The media and press turn away from Iowa and head full force towards New Hampshire, wehre the next Caucus will be held. At least their attention is on something BESIDES Britney Spears, but it is still somewhat an overwhelming amount. I appreciate their stress on the importance of politics but it almost makes me feel nervous or like the entire world depends on who wins these primaries. It's the same feeling I have waiting to see which college I will get into. I know choosing that college literally is choosing my life path because where I go determines everything that comes after that- future friends, jobs, experiences. It is the exact same thing with these primaries, who the people choose will completely alter the outcome compared if someone else won. Is this really true or is this exaggeration? Probablly somewhere in the middle.Saturday, January 5, 2008

In this case, for me, more is always better than less. I would rather our television stations to consistently talk about the results of the caucus and upcoming one's then zoo safety or w/e. I hope that those voters who would normally vote for the person who is the more "popular" canidate would see these specials on tv and realize what each actually support. Not the actual results of the caucus, but the debate they provoke afterwards on perhaps why they won, etc. Educating the public is definately a crucial step for a more responsible result from voters.
I think the media is beneficial in that it tries to inform people of the candidates and their stances. I do agree with you that the primaries are very important but not as important as the media makes them. The media does tend to exaggerate and stress things too much.
